Kennen Sie "Pimp My Ride" (zu Deutsch etwa: "Motz meine Karre auf")? Ein Magazin des TV-Senders MTV, das Anhänger zum Kult erklären. X-beliebige, gebrauchte Pkw, langweilige Serienautos mit ersten Rostspuren, werden von Experten technisch und optisch zu echten Hinguckern getrimmt. Eine Serie, die zeigt, wozu Tuning und Veredelung in der Autobranche fähig sind.
In der Buchbranche werden nur wenige Titel zu echten Hinguckern getrimmt. Ich schätze, dass nicht einmal 1% der Titel, die auf dem Markt sind, ausreichend beworben werden – bei rund 70.000 Neuerscheinungen jährlich sind das nur 700 Titel. Und die anderen 69.300? Und die, die auf der Backliste stehen? Und die, die noch im Lager liegen?
Da sieht es ziemlich düster aus. Denn die ganze Branche ist von der "Starmania" infiziert. Nur für Toptitel gibt es Budgets, nur Toptitel werden beim Leser beworben. Nur Toptitel werden rezensiert. Schlimmer noch. Die Marketingmethoden, die Verlage anwenden funktionieren nur bei Bestsellern.
Aber es gibt Marketingmethoden für Backlist-Titel, Erstlingswerke, Selbstverleger oder Miniauflagen. In meinem Buch "Kauf! Mich! Jetzt!" habe ich sie dargestellt. Sie basieren auf dem direkten Kontakt zum Leser, der Nutzung von Netzwerken und der Stimulation von Mundpropaganda als Mittel für einen nachhaltigen Bucherfolg.

Wie sind denn die Bedingungen zum Mitmachen?
Gilt das Angebot nur für Romane, die man selbst verlegen will?
Oder auch, wenn man dafür einen Verlag suchen will?
Gibt es Genre-Einschränkungen?
Stört es, wenn für das Buch schon Marketingmassnahmen im Internet stattfinden?
Muss dieses Marketing-Experiment eigentlich unbedingt "Pimp My Book" heissen?
Mir wäre es wohl fast peinlich, an einer "Pimpung" teilzunehmen.
Für autoliebende Männer und Amis klingt das vielleicht sexy, aber ich finde es ziemlich abturnend.

Ich fürchte, bei meinen Romanen betreibe ich schon zuviel Internet-Aktivitäten, als dass man ein sauberes Ergebnis der Pimp-Aktion abgrenzen könnte.
Daher macht es wohl eher keinen Sinn, wenn ich mich bei dir bewerbe.
Wenn dem nicht so wäre, hätte ich theoretisch durchaus Interesse, denn deine Aktion gefällt mir recht gut.
